If you want to keep things looking natural, then you would have heard of the balayage. Balayage is a French term that means “sweeping”. It is a coloring technique that paints highlights onto your hair to achieve that natural and gradual change of color. Learn how to do a blonde balayage with this short tutorial.
Step 1: Buy a balayage kit.
For doing a balayage at home, make sure to get a kit that is specifically meant for doing highlights or balayage. It should have a lightening formula, plastic gloves, comb applicator, and a small sachet of conditioner.
Step 2: Prepare the dye.
Follow the instructions on your kit. Usually, there will be no bleaching involved unless you want to change your hair color dramatically.
Step 3: Separate your hair into sections.
Separate your hair into three sections from top to the bottom. This makes it easier to apply the hair color. Put on a towel on your shoulders to prevent soiling your clothes.
Step 4: Apply the dye.
When applying the dye, make sure you apply them to 1-inch sections of hair. The thinner the hair sections, the more natural it will look. Once done, leave the color for 30 minutes.
Step 5: Rinse your hair.
Lastly, rinse out the remaining dye by using a shampoo. You can use the one in the kit or a color-friendly shampoo you have.
